Tiki Barber’s football career playing for the New York Giants might be over, but that doesn’t mean he’s done helping out the city that loves him. He and his wife Ginny attended the Central Park Zoo on Wednesday, May 20, for the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Annual family benefit, The Explorers’ Party. Joined by more than 850 New Yorker parents and children, the Barbers helped raise more then $173,000.
Everyone at the event had a blast while they enjoyed crafts and activities such as creating recycled art, button making, and coloring re-usable tote bags, all set up by the WCS’s five education departments – Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, New York Aquarium, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo. Kelly Mallon and Annette Younger were the Explorer’s Party Committee chairs and did a great job in putting this entertaining evening in place. Mallon and Younger also put together children’s music by Annie and the Natural Wonder Band, storytelling by LuAnn Adams, cupcake decorating courtesy of Susie’s Supper Club, a buffet dinner by Great performances, a live sea lion feeding, and a WCS Theater Performance. The Wildlife Conservation Society once again enjoyed a successful fundraising event and it was great that Tiki and Ginny were in attendance to show their support for the children of New York.
